International entrepreneurship 2 - Essay ExampleProvision of Managerial Advice Governments have often found it necessary to intervene in SME trading operations as they play a crucial role in economic development. If the SMEs atomic number 18 of strategic importance to the nation therefore, the government cannot risk them collapsing due to the conflict of the international free markets (Carter and Evans 2012, p.50). Governments can intervene by use of the financial systems put in place in order to ensure that the small businesses managers are properly trained on financial and managerial operations. This would have the effect of increasing small businesses in the nation due to increase in expertise available and improved quality of service. In Germany after the destruction of the economy during World War II, small businesses were almost non-existent and the erection of the Berlin wall resulted in east Germany lagging behind the West. As the two sides united in 1991, Eastern German ys small businesses stood at 80000 private craftsmanship firms with the largest employers having up to 1000 (Welter and littlerbone 2002, p.23). imputable to the risks of lending money to such clients, German banks were instructed by the federal government to take an active role in the operations of clients businesses. This included offering the clients advice this was to foreclose the loss of their loans but also led to better security for the bank, as they were sure of how their investments were spent. Cross Border Entrepreneurship Cross coast entrepreneurship can occur through and through partnership agreements between neighbouring countries. Cross border entrepreneurship (CBE) is when two or more countries result initiate business activities to meet the needs of the trading country. Therefore, with cross border trade, specialisation occurs on a national scale as SMEs begin to produce goods tailor made for the trading partner. Cross border entrepreneurship requires good regio nal relationships to take place and governments to initiate the activities before small businesses can start producing subsidiary goods. The governments of the trading countries will have to have lower custom standards for goods from the selected countries. It has been observed that one unplanned advantage that does result from CBE is an increase in tourism from the trading countries (Welter, Smallbone and Xheneti 2012, p.203). These includes Greece, Macedonia and Bulgaria, which have implemented a cross border entrepreneurial form _or_ system of government that has seen Greece invest over 1.5 billion dollars in Bulgaria between 1995 and 2005 (Welter Smallbone and Xheneti 2012, p.90), which has led to an exponential increase in trade volumes. Albania was recently included and combined its agricultural resources with Bulgaria for Albania and Greece. The governments of the 4 countries have offered subsidies to their partnering countries while removing the trade barriers and protect ionist policies other countries receive when trading. The unemployment problem in Greece has been a barrier to effective trading and until it is resolved, cross border trading will not be fully implemented. Subsidies Subsidies are incentives given by governments to various industries in order to promote growth and development in various fields. Small businesses do not enjoy economies of scale and during the formative years, they will find themselves lacking in many facilities that larger

Material Failure and Embodied Energy - Essay precedentTASK 1 The bending of an comprehensive when wind blows or the breaking of a bags handle, even the collapsing of mega structures like bridges and buildings are some prime types of structural disappointment. Structure failure in basic terms can be defined as the destruction or damage of a structure when it is unable to support its designated load any further. erst the structure looses it ability to carry load, it deforms, de-shapes or even destroys completely. There are many reasons a structure can fail its basic ability to draw load (NEL, 2007) Many reasons as states in previously include basic design flaws, construction flaws, overloading, foundation failure, corrosion and excessive use of a base body. The corrective/preventive measures that prepare to be taken are in accordance with the structural failure that has either prevailed or in the process of it. An example of it is the leaning tower of Pisa the design flaw is t he soft earth collect to which one part of the building is sinking inside. To negate the leaning effect, large weights and wires have been attached to the tower to keep it from falling to the end it is leaning to. The first part of the report depart identify structural failures in my daily unremarkable as an insurance engineer for a local school, where metallurgy plays an important role while covering any damage or even while insuring it. Example No 1 Fan Falling The first and foremost structural failure that was faced by the school administration was the falling of a detonating device winnow in a classroom. Luckily the recess was in progress and the fall resulted in no injury to any person. The only damage was to the fan itself and the table which it had fallen on. As a sue action was threatened by the parents of children studying in the school, our firm was called in to analyze the failure, state the start by of it and remedy actions. On inspecting the fan closely it was fo und that there was huge amount of rust in the loop where the fan was hanging. The loop had been disconnected due to this corrosion. Fan rotation causes certain vibration in the whole structure making it a viable threat if any sort of corrosion is present. This worry could have been detected easily but due to the upper portion of the fan concealed inside the fancy fall ceiling, this problem was not detected. afterward this incident, all the fans in the school were checked and it was a shocking fact that most of the fans had this similar problem. Therefore a complete overhauling of the fan holding loops was recommended for fish filet any such future incident. Also as the fall ceilings cannot be removed therefore a calendar inspection plan has been laid out by the insurance team to be done by the school administration. This inspection would also be checked by the insurance team as to ensure proper working of the school administration team. Also to add further security in the system, all hanging items like fans and ceiling lights and chandeliers will be checked for heir secure housing, where they are attached to the wall. Example No 2 Swing structure failure The second structure failure that was noticed in the same school was the falling off a children slide to one side while the children were on it taking turns for sliding down. whatever children were hurt and minor bruises were seen on children bodies. This incident

Tomato farming in calcium is practiced by large farm owners who have perfected the art for many decades. They are grown in the San Joaquin and Sacramento valleys. The fields are place from late January through early June for continuous harvest (Dhama 115). California, according to the join States Department of Agriculture, accounts for 90% of the United States of Americas production and 23% of the worlds production. Tomato farming requires a warm season beca implement the crop is sensitive to frost thus planting during the winter season is impossible. The optimal soil temperature is 68F (20C) or above. increase development and quality are severely reduced when the temperatures fall below 68F during the day and 50F at night. The five approximately common varieties grown in California are Heinz 9557, AB 2, Halley 3155, Heinz 9780, and Hypeel 303. Furrow irrigation is the most common method used with drip irrigation gaining acceptance. Fertilizer application varies for distinguishable types of tomatoes farming. The typical rate of application is 125-250 pounds of nitrogen (N) per acre, 40-120 pounds of P2O5 and 0-200 pounds of k2O per acre. Pest and weed management are also put into consideration. The tomatoes are mechanically harvested and loaded into tandem mickle trailers and transported to processing plants. They are then graded at the inspection station located in production areas. The Processing Tomato Advisory Board (PTAB) administers this comprehensive program. Defects level, fruit color, soluble solid content and pH are evaluated. After all the inspection they are then certified and transported to various stores around the country. The stores in Tucson along with other stores around the country, receive their fresh produce through r efrigerated trucks. The intended users of the product are the household, restaurants, hotels, hospitals and also schools. Most households use tomatoes in their daily lunch and evening meals. It has added nutritional value especially when its cooked. There are various ways of producing tomatoes. They include conventional, organic and hothouse or nursery methods. The two common ones are organic production and conventional method of production. Organic farming is a production system which avoids or largely excludes the use of synthetically compounded pesticide and fertilizers (Bradley 414). Organic fertilizer and soil amendment such as compost and manure are derived from waste outputs generated by other systems. The raw materials for these inputs are assumed to enter the farming systems without any environmental burden. While manure is not further processed before application, compost is produced from organic waste apply water and energy as additional inputs. The advantages of using t his method are that the tomatoes have high antioxidants, environmentally friendly and the fruits contain iron, potassium and vitamin A. Conventional production of tomatoes entails the use of manufactured synthetic compounds (chemicals) to enhance the growth of the plant. Its advantage is that the chemicals are readily available rather than having to construct a compost. The government through the United States Department of Agriculture has provided guidelines for use when applying/dressing the plants with the approved chemicals. If

B300 TMA02 - Essay ExampleWhereas the earlier playing field was politics, government and fiefdom, the current stage is one of business and industry. The impudent knowledge of management is no different from the old art of governanceMintzberg (1998) has described that rational process of analysis and planning takes a backseat and hard bargaining is the contrivance used by corporate elites for obtaining strategic and tactical advantages. It is exercise of raw power that moves and prevails on decisions. Indeed the icons of industry are becoming cult figures and are aggrandized as the new architects of strategy. These leaders and managers who engage in strategy are closely involved in directing resources towards organizational goals that they have set. They use groundbreaking technologies and make impact on society and its norms. In an earlier article Mintzberg and Winters (1985) have described five kinds of strategies deployed by leaders. They have named their models as, rising, in tended, deliberate, realized and unrealized. It is logically explained that the emergent strategy is a response to an opportunity and is a highly localized event. The intended one is more rationalized and a result of proper(postnominal) situations that require specific planning. The deliberate strategy is an extension of intended ones but more broadly conceived as a process that will result in either creating new strategies or will be able to face new challenges. The realized strategy is the culmination of the final deliberate strategy and the unrealized is the one that emerges as a different strategy when meeting new challenges. In fact these five strategies as the spectrum that demonstrates the two extremes and what lies between them when strategies are planned and are profitable to the extent that they show the intensity of the strategy evolution process. However the authors say that there are still several types of strategies that lie between these extremes.1. The

Research proposal - Essay ExampleThe study will therefore focus on establishing various perfunctory verification and protective cover methods. The methods be expected to play a crucial role in the minimization of computer crimes and information wars.Formal verification and security are of great importance in the growth of hard ware and software systems. In the past years, there has been a tremendous progress in both the speed and capacity of constraint technology. In the 19th century the percentage of computer crimes and information war were very low. This was greatly attributed to lack of industrial enterprise hence low technology advancement. However, in the 21st century, technology has drastically emerged amongst many societies in the world. Brake and Johnson (2001), states that technology has greatly advanced leading to computerization of various homestead and commercial based systems such as mobile phones, washing machine, automated teller machines among others. The increase in technology has led to outcome of various computer crimes and information wars hence the need for formal verification and security methods. Original methods and approaches are now being developed in crop to protect the systems involved against attackers, to identify the attackers and to collect sensitive information so as to eliminate the threats. In the past, security protocols were designed and verified through lax techniques. The absence of formal verification led to security errors remaining undetected. Recently, emergence and presence of formal verification techniques have led to provision of a authoritative way of discovering protocol flaws.Due to the increase in computer crimes, information wars and computer intrusions, the study purports to establish effective formal verification and security methods. The methods are expected to reduce computer crime rates in the world. The study also focuses on exploring possible applications of

To what extent is religious fundamentalism an anti-modern ideology Coursework
To what extent is religious fundamentalism an anti-modern ideology - Coursework ExampleWithin such a way, a person who ascribes to a modernist theory or indication is of the belief that situational factors as well as the development of knowledge have a powerful impact on determining the norms and mores of whatever cosmos view they may hold (Eccleshall, 1994). This is not to say that a person who ascribes to a modernist approach is entirely and/or completely tossed by the winds of change. Rather, it merely indicates a worldview that is more cognizant and places a higher level of importance upon the way in which current definitions and understandings can impact upon the way in which their worldview is constrained and develops. Conversely, an individual(a) who ascribes to something of a fundamentalistic viewpoint is one who is something of a lit agelist. Within such a way, fundamentalism, by its very nature, is a separatist doctrine that seeks to separate itself from the mainstream a nd harken back to a prior interpretation of the doctrines or teachings of a particular world view/faith. As such, it will be the express intent of this instruct analysis to discuss the marrow by which fundamentalism is by very nature an anti-modern philosophy/approach to any given world view. One of the primary definitions of fundamentalism that is indite throughout many of the belief systems in the world is the fact that they invariably ascribe to the belief that the truth has become adulterated indoors the modern era and it is necessary to hearken back to a time of prior truth and purity in order to fulfill whatever directive a deity or group of deities might have set forth for them in a simpler and more pure time. This is true regardless of whether one examines an Islamic fundamentalist group or whether one examines a Hindu or Christian fundamentalist group. As such, a further appreciation and definition of the word fundamentalist leads one to realize that the fundamentals of a given faith or worldview are the prized possession that these individuals are fully unwilling to part with (Zizek, 1989). Those that ascribe to the fundamentals, those who mold what are they based upon a narrow and historical interpretation of a key set of beliefs, question the means by which society and/or gloss of the times can help to better them or the faith to which they ascribe. As such, fundamentalists, regardless of their particular variety, are inherently and entirely anti-modern. However, another key divisor of the fundamentalist worldview is not only the fact that they seek to disengage with modern society and return/recluse back to a prior interpretation of the mores and beliefs of a particular faith. Such a pattern of behavior would not make them anti modern and would not ensure that they came into any level of conflict with those within society that did not ascribe to a limited view of reality (Ball, 2010). Rather, they are invariably interested in alerting oth ers to the ills of modernity and instructing them that the best means of assuring a further level of happiness and/or salvation is to disengage with the modern society and revert back to a literal or figurative interpretation of the means by which a given belief system was understood within the deep or not so distant past. It is this very attitude of disengagement and seeking to encourage or demand that others disengage that is perhaps the strongest argument for the fact that these individuals are invariably anti-modern in their interpretation o
